Federal skilled worker applications received after
June 26, 2010 will be assessed for eligibility according to a new set of instructions issued by Citizenship and Immigration Canada. As Canada's labour needs change, new instructions will be issued.
In order to qualify, you must be in ONE of the following groups:
- be a skilled worker who has at least one year of experience in one of these 29 designated occupations:
- Primary Production Managers (except agriculture)
- Professional Occupations in Business Services to Management
- Insurance Adjusters and Claims Examiners
- Restaurant and Food Service Managers
- Biologists and Related Scientists
- Architects
- Dentists
- Pharmacists
- Dental Hygienists & Dental Therapists
- Psychologists
- Social Workers
- Specialist Physicians
- General Practitioners and Family Physicians
- Physiotherapists
- Licensed Practical Nurses
- Registered Nurses
- Medical Radiation Technologists
- Chefs
- Cooks
- Contractors and Supervisors, Carpentry Trades
- Contractors and Supervisors, Mechanic Trades
- Electricians (except Industrial & Power System)
- Industrial Electricians
- Plumbers
- Welders & Related Machine Operators
- Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanics
- Crane Operators
- Drillers & Blasters - Surface Mining, Quarrying & Construction
- Supervisors, Oil and Gas Drilling and Service
